In the video you can listen to my interpretation of the first movement, “Adagio sostenuto”, of the Piano Sonata No. 14 in c sharp minor (op. 27 No. 2) by Ludwig Van Beethoven, German composer and pianist, called “Sonata Quasi una fantasia” by Beethoven himself, but known under the name of “Moonlight Sonata”, named by the German critic Rellstab because he likened the effect of the first movement to that of moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne.
Completed in 1801 and dedicated by Ludwig Van Beethoven to his favourite pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi, is certainly among the best known piano compositions.
I wish you all a happy listening!
