Frédéric Chopin – Barcarolle, Op.60

Yes, I know this is quite possibly one of the worst camera angles of a piano performance on Youtube – I can explain! First of all, if I point my phone the other way, the blinding light from my window essentially makes it so you can’t see anything. Originally the shot included a lot more above the piano, but unfortunately my family was walking around in the background, so I had to cut that out 🙁

I figured things out by the time I uploaded the Prokofiev (these vids were not uploaded chronologically…), as of now, enjoy this lovely camera angle with some nice background kitchen noise.

This hopefully represents the lowest my video quality will ever get. In fact, although I was pretty happy with this performance (unhappy with the audio though), I might actually just re-record this because I seriously can do better. I’m posting this video as a punishment/incentive for me to re-record sooner rather than never.

In other Chopin news, I might touch up the 1st ballade and record that if I have time (I worked on it for a while, got it pretty okay, and then stopped after I got tired of practicing the coda…), and I’m currently working on the 1st movement of his 2nd sonata. I may or may not continue progress on the latter, considering I believe in the superstitions surrounding the funeral march and a time like this is not one to tempt fate…
