Jin Hyung Park The 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition preliminary round
Born on 27 June 1996. He studies piano with Yung Wook Yoo at Yonsei University in Seoul. He has won prizes in international piano competitions in Prague (first prize, 2017), Panama (second prize, 2016) and Cleveland (for the best Chopin performance, 2016). In 2015 he reached the final of the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in Santander. His success when still at school brought many invitations to perform in South Korea and abroad – in 2017 he appeared at the Prague Spring Festival, in Bratislava and in Paris. He has played with the Slovakian Symphony Orchestra, Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He holds a Yamaha Music in Korea scholarship.
